The Lady Lever Art Gallery is a stunning neo-classical building in Port Sunlight, the centrepiece of a village built for workers at the nearby Lever Soap factory.

The gallery, along with the village, was built by industrialist and Victorian philanthropist William Lever to house his collection of art, ceramics, furniture and sculpture.

The gallery remains in the much the same role today and is open to visitors every day. Lady Lever features notable collections of pre-Raphaelite arts, 18th century furniture, Wedgewood jasperware and a number of ancient Greek and Roman sculptures.

It includes paintings from Stubbs, Constable, Turner, Gainsborough, Millais and Rosetti. The Lady Lever Gallery also hosts a small section of Lever’s advertising materials based around his soap products.

The gallery contains a cafe and shop and also features seasonal exhibitions. There is plenty of parking nearby and entry is free.
